Quest for Resolve:
A journey in triptych uses continuity and spatial montage
to construct a sensorial experience.
Quest for Resolve is an immersive video installation thirteen years in the making. Three single channel video projections fill three walls. In the exhibit, time collapses with the presentation of the trolley bag (pictured in the projections on the wall) now resting in the gallery space. It is a vessel containing evidence of the journey taken. Within the bag rests a small screen, a site for the video that began the quest.

Quest for Resolve mockups

QR No.1 mockup (overhead view)
Mockup No.1 projects three single channel videos onto three contiguous or nearby walls. The trolley bag sits in near space to the third (grass) scene. The small monitor positioned inside the trolley bag hosts the fourth video.

QR No.2 mockup (elevation view)
Mockup No.2 projects as a (single channel) triptych onto one wall. The trolley bag with small monitor sits in near space to the third (grass) scene. This configuration is suitable for shared shows and smaller spaces.

QR No.3 mockup (elevation view)
Mockup No.3 projects as a (single channel) triptych onto one wall. A QR code links to the video that would otherwise appear in the trolley bag. This option eradicates the (trolley bag) object in space and puts the 4th video onto the smartphone of the participant. This configuration is suitable for shared shows and smaller spaces.
